February Meeting Minutes

Motion to approve Treasurer’s report: Bank now with Integris $82359.27, Close to same amounts as last month.

Old Business

  • Criminal Record Checks – Applied for group.
  • Banking- officially with Integris Credit Union.
  • Yoga/Seniors Grant: Applied for grant, Should hear back in May
  • Fall Fair planning- Looking for volunteers, meeting March 7th @4:30pm via zoom. Kim will set up.
  • Grant Applications- APPLIED for food safe grant. 2 classes 10-25 ppl per class.
  • Junk in the Trunk – May 13th? Junk in the trunk June 3rd. Shared with Hixon Elementary PAC. BBQ & concession – proceeds & labour split between HCA Volunteers & PAC.

New Business

  • Lynn Schofield- Proposed March 18th Cabin Fever Dance. Proceeds to Hixon Soup group and community member battling cancer (prefers to keep name private). HCA sponsor dance. Lynn organize & get liquor licence. Tickets need to be pre-sold. no door admission. Motion made by Kristine to for HCA to sponsor dance, approved by Kim.
  • Horse Club Agreement- Need final copy of agreement approved next meeting. March 2023.
  • Sherry & Graham unable to attend meetings for months…Position dissolve or what? Tabled to next directors meeting.
  • Snow removal @ Hall- Gerald plows fire lane next to hall & water area. Agree to have Hall user maintained.
  • Ease trough/ Facia board falling 2 back of hall- Repair in Spring 2023
  • Criminal Record Check- application is in

  • Grants- Kaleb from MMP has offered to help HCA to apply for grants. He believes
    application for the community Services Recovery Fund Grant should be applied for. HCA will look more into this grant application. This grant could aid in supporting a directors course for members. Pat will contact Kaleb to expand what he thinks.
  • New Gas stove for Hall kitchen- need to vote- Voted yes to gas stove from Wills Harper. Delivery $100, base price $1099 & $100 for extra grate. Motioned by Kristine, Seconded by Kim & Pat.
  • Hall temperature- Change temperature to 15 degrees
  • Fortis Bill -Dec 2022 $901, Nov $747, Jan 2022 $497
  • Pay Lisa- Toilet Instal- taken care of
  • HCA insurance- Regional District will pay for 2023 Quote:$13,773
