Meeting Minutes

Date: November 4th, 2025

Meeting called to order: 5:29pm

Motion to approve agenda: Kim seconded by Judy

Motion to approve Annual General Meeting minutes: Kim seconded by Rick

Treasurer’s Report: $108.214 total; $46.808,28 in grants; $61.411,15 rest

Motion to approve Treasurer’s report: Judy seconded by Rick

Old Business:

●Shipping container Judy is working on it

●Water: sign to inform users of routine system operation with information: Water from the well, notreatment, microbiologically tested as required by Northern Health on a regular basis

●Water quality monitoring program and emergency response plan are on the kitchen board to be filledout

●Sound System in the hall: $10.000 donation from Don and Sharon MacKay, Pat talked with the sound system providers.

●Kids Playgroup is planned for tomorrow and December 3rd this year.

●Fall fair: Kim wanted to know where the next fall fair will be. She already has people interested in the fair. Kristine said that between PG fair and Quesnel fair will be the best date which is August 22.

●Grants: Halloween $2000, Christmas Market $2500 , Theater Group $5000, Programming Arts $ 5000

●Kitchen inspection report: Emilia asked if we need to do anything annually? Pat said that we have to pay $50 every year.

●Halloween sum up: around 12 pizzas were distributed, Kim Gibbs won the prize in Halloween Scavenger Hunt

●Christmas Market plan: Ashley will prepare gifts for children from Santa Claus, Kristin proposed that her children take care of Santa’s Workshop.

New Business:

●Carefree Society: new pilot program in Hixon to see if the community would be interested in transportation within Hixon and to Prince George (Regional District gave money for 3-4 trips). The company has 7 passengers plus 2 wheelchairs/scooter space bus that can be used in Hixon and for trips depending on demand. HCA needs to check how many members of the community will be interested. Cost of the vehicle $85/hour.

●Christmas Hampers: this year Debbie Schultz takes care of the hampers. Motion to give keys for the hall from December 1st to December 18th to Debbie that she could prepare hampers by Emilia seconded by Kim: everyone yes. Debbie informed everyone that it’s a new committee and the hampers won’t be as big as last year. (no funds)

●Keys for the Theater Group stage manager: Motion to give keys to Barbara Remus to do the set for the performance by Candace seconded by Emilia: everyone yes.

●Microphone purchase for the theater group Candace asked from what funds will the purchase of mics be made.

●Membership, the code of conduct Motion to change the membership price by Kristine seconded by Candace from $10 and $5 to $25 and $15 effective immediately: everyone yes. Motion to add discounts for the members for different events by Kristine seconded by Emilia: everyone yes. Motion to approve the code of conduct with additions by Candace seconded by Judy: everyone yes.

●Paper for the fire hall: Pat will bring the case for the fire hall

●Street lights on the school bus route: Rick will write a letter to the Highway Department asking for the installation of new lights at Colebank and Bromscombe roads, where the school bus picks up kids, because it is really dark there which is dangerous.

●Wobbly display case: Ryan will take care of it.
