Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order: 7:11pm

Treasurer’s Report: $99677,99 total, approximately $40000 in grants

Motion to approve Treasurer’s report: Candace seconded by Kim

Old Business:

●Hall cleaning: motion by Kim seconded by Candace that Ian Bellinger could clean the hall for $200. Everyone in favour. He can say if he commits after the first cleaning.

New Business:

-Hixon Community Association General Meeting date: the 21st of October, 7pm. 30 days before the secretary will put a notice on a web page, in a post office, facebook group, in the Hixon Holler , We need to check who is for renewal. Art agreed to be a scrutineer.

-Party Kings Co owes us $1632.52 (they didn’t show up with the bouncy castles at the fall fair) and are not able to pay according to their email. We could ask for monthly payments of at least $50 or a bouncy castle. Motion to ask respectfully made by Kim seconded by Candace: Everybody in favour

– Halloween scavenger hunt proposal Motion by Emilia seconded by Candace to do the game All in favour. Motion by Candace seconded by Emilia to take extra money from different sources than Halloween grant in case we wouldn’t have enough for the prize: All in favour. Candace has a great idea to add a movie pass into the prize.

– Cleaning brown shed: the brown shed was partially cleaned. All the junk was taken to the dumpster. We cannot take out big tents because we don’t have enough space in the hall to store them.

-New storage container: We desperately need more storage space for a lot of stuff: bingo machine, cotton candy machine, ladders, tables, chairs, tents, barbeque. We can add the new shed on the left corner of the community hall. Motion for purchase of a shipping container made by Kim seconded by Emilia: everyone agreed. We need to check the prices of 20f or 40f cans to see what would be a better option for us. Pat and Judy will check the prices. Emilia will check the measurements of the place where the container will go.

-Theater group: HCA agreed to using the hall on Mondays 4:30 for theater group rehearsals. Motion by Candace seconded by Emilia to buy royalties for ~$100 for play. All agree

-Programmers club: HCA HCA agreed to using the hall. Emilia will ask Marcin to write a letter for Art, asking for donations from the Regional District to buy equipment.

-Kids Playgroup with CCRR every first Wednesday of the month starting October. Motion by Emilia seconded by Judy to use the hall: everyone yes.

-Winter meeting time change after general meeting
