June Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order: 7:03 pm
Attending: Pat, Kristine, Judy, Emilia
Guests: Corinne Hickman RD by law officer, Darhl, Gerald, Barbara, Art, Chelsea, Tammy, Craig Douglass
Motion to approve agenda: Judy seconded by Gerald
Motion by Kristine to add guidance by Corinne Hickman Regional District by law officer to the agenda; all in favour.
Motion to approve previous minutes: Barbara seconded by Kristine
Treasurer’s Report : Pat will bring the books for the next meeting
Old Business
-Hall renovation June 15th: preparing the hall for renovation is planned for June 9th @ 5:00pm We have to find out if the speakers must be taken down too.
– Trials in Hixon Recreational Property Fallen tree is gone
-Proposed park on Hixon Hall Grounds no updates
-Lights at the Welcome to Hixon sign Gerald put bigger better solar lights from the grant money.
-The letter of support for Daryhl Pahly’s campground Tammy noticed that the Hixon Community Association should support. We are waiting for the application to be submitted. Daryl said that he has already done that and that there won’t be any change in zoning.
New Business
● Wind Project meeting June 9th at 7pm Local businesses and Volunteering Fire Department are informed.
● Northern Development Grant signage Pat didn’t bring the papers Kristine and Pat will read it and sign
●Corinne Hickman presented information about how and when members of the community can complain about disturbances in the neighborhood. Community Associations cannot complain; only individuals can do such. The more people complain, the more attention it will get. Civil issues cannot be addressed by bylaw officers; only zoning bylaws can be enforced. Craig Douglass from RCMP advised that any suspicious criminal activity can be tipped anonymously to the Crime Stoppers.
