March Meeting Minutes 2025

Treasurer’s Report : $92200.40 total; monthly bills: gas bill $540; hydro bill $328.77; $294 for the furnace repair and maintenance; snow removal $157.50. Food for the soup group $59.99

Old Business
-Playgroup is April 8th at 9:30am. Six kids attended the last playgroup.
-Emergency information signage update: Kim found the yellow board. Signage will be up in the next 2 weeks.
-Insurance update: Johnston Meier invoices totaling $17,868 were directly paid from theRegional District using grants. The two invoices have been paid from 4 grants that the HCA has had on the books. We have to remember to exclude glass insurance for the next year if it lowers the insurance cost.
-Grants update: grant requests from the Regional District were approved: $13,050 for insurance, and $ 40,000 for improvements, upgrades, equipment and operating expenses. The RegionalDistrict Board wrote letters of support for the two Northern Development Initiative Trust grant applications Grant will be used for ceiling replacement by direct billing. Grant for the Fall Fair was gone by January 12th. Next year we need to prepare all documents before the grant’s opening and submit them the first day.
-The Regional District Administration is ready to meet with the larger Community of Hixon about the proposed Regional District Park. Proposed date is April 1st, 6:30pm Motion to put a notice in the newsletter and posters Candance seconded by Judy – everyone in favor
-Hixon Hall Maintenance List was created during the meeting. Will be presented to Jacob for approval if he wants to work again this summer.
New Business
-Enbridge Roundtable Discussion is planned at March 5th 4-6 pm
-Flower garden would be taking care by Corina Wanke
-We should have a guest book for events to know how many people attended
-We need to think about hot water on demand which would lower our bills
