November Meeting Minutes

Treasurer’s Report : The balance is 95,816.31.

Old Business

  • –  Halloween – All the money from the Enbridge donation was spent. We gave out 58 goodie bags plus pizza plus soda. We receive a 30% discount for pizza from Red Tomato Pie. Pat will email our sponsor Enbridge with photos from the event and information that all the grant for Halloween was spent. Fire Hall is a safer and better location for Halloween.
  • –  Cooking on a budget class – not a lot of people attending. We have space for more. People who come are happy, the food is delicious.
  • –  Playgroup – November 6th from 9:30-11:30am. CCRR is coming out and will put on a themed playgroup. The theme is dinosaurs and will have free play, science experiment, snack time and story time. CCRR plans to come every 2 weeks, likely on Tuesdays in the future. Nikki agreed to help and be a backup for Caden if necessary. HCA will provide the snack and CCRR needs an association member to let them in and help set up.
  • –  Quotes for hall renovations: We received only one quote so far. Waiting for two more. Art will help with grants for renovation of the ceiling.
  • –  Jacob reimbursement: we are still waiting for the receipt for oil change for 2024 to reimburse half.
  • –  Park proposal: Regional District Board approved the place for the future park. Next step is to evaluate the area and come up with plans to HCA.

New Business

  • –  Christmas Hampers – Lisa Wellington: ~33 hampers to be created 2024. Lisa requested key access to accept donations Dec 1-16, build hampers Dec 16-20, deliver hampers Dec 21. Motion to donate space in Hixon hall & key access Dec 1-21 to christmas hamper committee: All in favor. HCA agreed to donate some food.
  • –  Christmas tree lights on- Lisa Wellington date December 1st
  • –  Christmas Market: Motion by Kristine to organised Christmas Market in Hixon hall Dec 1st: All in favor. Emilia responsible for organisation. Vendor booths for $10 per table.
  • –  Judy donated some tablecloths for the tables in the hall.
  • –  Secretary Candidates – Caden will be stepping down from Secretary, Kristine nominate Emilia to step into the position. All in favor.
  • –  New board members where announced publicly
  • –  Keys to the Hall : Dan Davis is no longer the Director. Judy Doyle is a new Director and is looking after the keys for the Hall now.
  • –  Bank: Kim Grimwade is an authorized signer to the bank. Dan Davis is taking his name off
