October Meeting Minutes

October 3rd, 2023

Meeting called to order: 5:36pm

Treasurer’s Report : $91,906.16 in account. Pat dropped off full year of books with Carla, she will try to get the year end done by October 24th

Old Business

  • Roof Repair – Apply for a grant, which grant. Co-op does capital funding that typically comes due in January for application. Co-op Community Spaces funding opens in February. O’Flynn has been in touch with us to follow up and we let them know that we are trying to get some funding and they will follow up in the spring. Pat will talk to Art more about funding for the roof. 
  • Check Enbridge for corporate grant. Check if the quote will hold until next spring and if not , an approximate idea of what it might increase.
  • PAL/CORE – Barb Metcalf was planning to have more information for tonight’s meeting. Can do one in November or February, Ask Barb to get the cost information and how many people can be in the class. We will aim to put it on in Spring. 
  • AGM – October 24, 2023 @ 7:30pm. One position is open, 4 up for renewal. Make a poster to advertise positions open and what we have coming this year, reflect on the last year. Art is going to be the scrutener 
  • Welcome sign lights – Gerald bought some and they were not bright enough so he will buy different ones. We can use the original ones for the back of the hall.

New Business

  • Quesnel resource center – Kristine has phone and left a message with Penny to see if they are interested in doing a weekly mom and tot program, apply for a grant for this, Small Co-op grant will support this type of thing, Application is due 
  • Kids food safe program. 
  • Fleetwood Machine Works – thank you for donating gift certificates for fall fair volunteers of their choice. 
  • Crosswalk – the crosswalks have not yet been painted back on the road, who do we contact about this? Pat will text Gerald and ask who would do the painting for the crosswalk. 
  • Halloween – Register your kids for Halloween bag with name and age, Mac n Cheese with wieners by donation. Need numbers for dinner as well. Register through Pat. Pat will contact Save on and ask for bags to be donated for the kids. Sign up before October 23rd.
